This 5.75” reverse gag bit is a refined leverage bit designed to offer added control while encouraging softness and proper head carriage. Unlike a traditional gag bit that applies upward lifting pressure, the reverse gag functions by applying downward pressure on the poll when engaged, helping discourage excessive head elevation and resistance.
This design makes the reverse gag especially useful for horses that brace upward, carry their head too high, or evade contact by lifting against the bridle. The bit allows for clear, momentary communication without constant pressure, supporting balance and responsiveness while maintaining comfort when used correctly.
CRICKET ROLLER: Great for a nervous type horse with the cricket provides a pacifier and also allows the rider to hear when they are rolling it thanks to the cricket like chirp it creates when rolled.
GERMAN SILVER BEADS: provide a pacifier for nervous horses and increases salivation which naturally relaxes the jaw promoting more effective response to the bit. The beads also roll on the bars of the mouth preventing over reaction to bar pressure.
SQUARE MOUTH: The square mouth provides a little more "Bite" than a smooth mouth.
CHAIN BITS: For a more sensitive horse or a horse that is resistant to bar pressure
PORTED MOUTH: provides faster response and natural break at the poll. Great for a pushy or strong horse.
